News
Mohamed Saccoh and Rikst Aukema visit the War Wounded Academy 15 January 2012.
They discussed the planning for the school marching band, which will probably have its first performance at Thanksgiving of the school.
They returned with all kind of new information, news and photo's. E.g. about a project of Amnesty International.
On the photo (on the right) we see a group of students participating in the Human Right Club ("Sabi you rights")
together with the Vice-principal mr. Abdulai, Mohamed and Rikst.
Also new was the gate (left) to keep many unwanted visitors outside the school (and its toilets!)
as well as the construction of a depot for safe storage of the schoolmaterials and equipment.

Benefit Concert a big success. 27 november 2011. It was a great afternoon and the aim of € 2000 was reached.
The budget for instruments and uniforms is now completed. We are grateful to all our sponsors.

The Dutch NGO Cordaid will double the funds raised at the Benefit Concert. 23 november 2011.
When we raise € 2000, Cordaid will double it to € 4000. This is also great news. |

Stichting World Runners will sponsor our project. 20 november 2011.
The board of Stichting World Runners has decided to contribute to the education of the children of the War Wounded for a number of years.
This is great news.

Food for Food 28 oktober 2011. This was a very special event. Francis prepared the main dish in the Sierraleonean way for the very first time
and everybody has enjoyed it.
During the evening Francis and Betsy were interviewed for Radio Sierra Leone in Holland and Francis shared with us a part of his life story;
this made a big impression on all persons present.

World Runners donate € 500 for schoolband.
August 17th 2011.This donation completes the fundraising for the basic music instruments for the schoolband of the Academy.

| Flea-market April 30th 2011. This flea-market at the occasion of the birthday of our Queen, was a great success with proceeds of € 553,50!!! We thank all those who brought in goods for sale. Thank you very much!! |
